What I Need to Start Raiding
Quick reference for WoW TBC patch 2.4.x (level 70, level 73 raid bosses). Numbers use standard rating conversions; talents and buffs (Draenei aura, Totem of Wrath, etc.) lower caps — read each line’s assumptions.

Global math (L70 vs L73 boss): spell hit cap 16% → 202 spell hit rating with no talents (12.615 rating per 1%). Melee / ranged special hit cap 9% → 142 hit rating (15.77 per 1%). Expertise: ~103 expertise rating (~26 expertise) removes boss dodge (6.5%) for attacks from behind. Tanks: 490 defense (or equivalent resilience) for crit immunity vs bosses. Consumable names are TBC-era; adjust for your raid.
